Merry Christmas, Aither!
Ok, so maybe it's not Christmas time quite yet. But Aither staff are already in the holiday spirit so we've decided to hold a Christmas in July event. This event has three components:
Daily event calendar. Check in each day to win prizes!
Global freeleech. Download all the things!
Upload contest. From now until the Christmas in July event ends on 6 Aug, all non-anonymous uploads will count towards the upload contest. There are some great prizes:

1st place: 6 months donor subscription, 250,000 BON
2nd place: 3 months donor subscription, 100,000 BON
3rd place: 1 month donor subscription, 50,000 BON

While I have your attention, there are a few recent changes that we're also pretty excited about.

Trumps and Seedtime
There was a change in upstream UNIT3D a year or so ago to include trumped uploads in seedtime calculations. The logic goes that if you were seeding a torrent for 2-3 years, for example, and it got trumped by a newer version, it would be unfair to remove those years of seedtime from your stats.

However, that change cut both ways. If you download any currently-airing TV episodes (such as the many releases by our wonderful internal group Kitsune), once those episodes get packed into a season pack, you are now "stuck" with multiple torrents having just a few days/weeks of seedtime each.

Effective 19 July, we've reversed this change on Aither, and as such any deleted/trumped torrent will no longer count towards your seedtime. Yes that means you'll lose credit for long-term seeds that get trumped. We feel the trade-off is worth it though, especially with all the great TV content that our internals provide. For most users this is a net-positive and will result in an increase to your average seedtime stat.

Internal Requests
Speaking of our great internals, the request system has been updated to allow you to specify an internal release group when creating requests. So if you want a S02 WEB-DL of Bleach, for example, and you absolutely insist that Kitsune do it, you can now specify that in the request!

One Final Exciting Internal Announcement
Finally, we're happy to announce that our newest internal team, RandomBytes, has recently received a TRaSH Guides rating of Tier 2 for UHD Bluray! Congratulations RandomBytes! 🎉 Make sure you update your radarr definitions to take advantage of the increased scores.
